About Us
The Birth of a Movement
“I got tired of picking up people’s trash, so I designed a program that wasn’t just a workday — I wanted it to be fun, meaningful, and something people would want to come back to.”
SAYLOVE began in 2018 with a simple idea: caring for our community should bring people together, not feel like a chore. What started as one person picking up trash quickly grew into a grassroots movement powered by volunteers, families, youth, and local partners who believe in taking pride in where we live.

SAYLOVE is a grassroots, volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the beauty, safety, and well-being of the Yuba-Sutter area.
Through community clean-ups, outreach programs, and hands-on projects, we work to create visible, positive change while strengthening connections between neighbors. Our projects are open, welcoming, and designed to make a real difference — not just for today, but for the future of our communities.

Building a Cleaner, Stronger Community
How We Do It
SAYLOVE works collaboratively with individuals, businesses, service organizations, churches, and local agencies to carry out monthly community clean-ups and special projects throughout the year.
Volunteers bring their time, energy, and sometimes tools and trailers to help restore public spaces, support community programs, and assist where the need is greatest. Each volunteer receives a SAYLOVE t-shirt so our efforts are visible and inspire others to get involved.
After every event, volunteers gather to connect, recognize sponsors, share a meal, reflect on accomplishments, and identify where further action is needed. These moments of connection are just as important as the work itself.
Why It Matters
Clean, cared-for spaces build pride, safety, and connection. When youth, families, and neighbors work side by side, they don’t just clean up a space — they strengthen the fabric of the community.
SAYLOVE’s story-driven, hands-on approach helps inspire long-term involvement, encourages youth leadership, and creates visible results that everyone can see and feel.
